Have I had a good year?

Hello! Today I’m going to talk about my year. I think that a lot of good things happened, for example, I went the concert of my childhood’s ex-favorite band, Sonata Arctica. The entrance was given to me by my boyfriend. He gave me the entrance because the band was to play their first songs (their best songs). I went alone, but I enjoyed it a lot. Also, a passed all of my courses in the first semester, and now, I’m part of the work group in the subject “Procesos Psicológicos Básicos” and that’s a great achievement for me. Another thing is that I was in a singing workshop, I learned a lot of skills, but sadly, I didn’t enjoy it very much, because the people weren’t very nice, and the teacher sometimes was mean to me, so I quit it.  

Another thing that didn’t go so well is that with all this things, my grades descended, but it doesn’t really matter if I enjoyed my activities.  Also, my boyfriend’s cat died, her name was Luna, and I loved her very much, all the family was in pain and we cried a lot.

This year isn’t over yet, so I have a lot of things to do, I have to finish my videogames, they are abandoned! I have to continue with my activities as an assistant in the university. Another project is that with a friend, we are trying to make a virtual store and I hope it works. And finally, I want to have a little cat, I don’t have pets, so I want a cat meanwhile I’m in vacations.

The best day of my life

One of the bests days of my life, was when I went to “Maquinaria Festival”. I don’t remember exactly when it was, but I think that it was in 2011.

This day was very important to me, because my boyfriend gave me the entrance as a present because we were 6 months together. Me and my boyfriend have almost the same musical interests, so we can share these kinds of things. The festival was in “Club Hípico”, so we had a lot of space to just sit down and relax and see the different bands.

The bands that we were able to see in order were Down, Alice in Chains, Chris Cornell, Faith no More and Megadeth. Personally, I didn’t like Down, I think that their music is very repetitive, Alice in Chains were the best in that day, and they played their best songs! Chris Cornell disappointed me, because he has an amazing voice and his music is powerful, but he made an unplugged show, it was boring for me, he played “Black Hole Sun”, one of my favorite songs, but it had no power. In Faith no More I died ajaja, the people were very crazy, everyone was pushing me and I’m little, so my boyfriend protected me. And finally Megadeth, I didn’t know much about this band, but my boyfriend is a fan of this group, so we stayed to see them, and they were very good! I enjoyed it very much!

I don’t think that it is possible to repeat this day, because we have been in other festivals like lollapalooza, but the bands aren’t the same style. So we go just to concerts of this style, more rockers jajaja. 

My future (imaginary) job.

In a parallel world, I would like to be a famous singer of a rock band. I think it would be very funny, but very stressing at the time. Funny because, who doesn’t want to be a rock star? Jajaja, and stressing because you have to be very responsible with the essays, the creation of the music, and the tours! If you are sick, you can’t cancel a concert for a cold, and also, it takes a lot of time.

   

The most of the time I think that I would spend my time in studios, because you have to create new music and it is really difficult. And also you have to do band rehearsals to improve your techniques.

If I were a band singer, I would like that my band was very famous, because if we are famous, we would be able to do a lot of tours, so then I would visit a lot of different places and countries.

To be a great singer, I would study to do that in “Escuela Moderna de Música” first, but then, I’ll try to study in others countries, where music is better and important, like England.

But for now, I just dream and play music sometimes with my friends. I try to improve my voice to do a better music, but now It’s just for fun (:

My favorite piece of art

Hi everyone! There are many pieces of art that I like a lot, so I couldn’t pick just one as my favorite, but I’ll talk about something that I really like.

There’s a song by “A Perfect Circle” that I’ll never be tired of listening to. The song is called “Weak and Powerless”; it was recorded and released in 2003 in North Hollywood, California. It is the first single from their second album “Thirteen Step”. Also, this song was part of the soundtrack of the movie “Underworld”.

The meaning that I see in this song is how people can feel sometimes so desperate and lonely, that they just don’t know what to do to stop feeling that way, and they try so hard to fill the hole that is inside them with everything that they found, but they efforts are useless, because they can’t find the right answer of what they need.

In the video you can see a nude woman with a long white hair, and she is grabbing a lot of reptiles and throwing them into a dark hole. For me it’s like a metaphor of how she is trying to fill the hole in she, but in the end, she still have it.

 This song is so depressing, that strangely, it helps me when I’m sad, because I feel that I can vent a lot of anger and pressure, and then I feel more relieved.

My favorite concert

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to talk about something that I love, concerts.

My favorite concert was when I saw for second time to Steven Wilson. Why the second time? That’s because I won a “meet & greet”, so I could meet him! It was an amazing experience, because I admire him a lot, he is my favorite musician. He is taller than me, but is short to be men. I ask to him for a hug, and he says "of course, hugs are free!", I was very happy in that moment (his body is so warm, and I find him so handsome ajajaj). Steven is the singer, the main guitarist, sometimes he plays the piano, and the main composer of the band Porcupine Tree, but he also has a lot of other projects like No-man, Blackfield, Bass Communion, Storm Corrosion (with the Opeth’s vocalist,  Mikael Åkerfeldt), and a solo project: Steven Wilson.

The concert was in May, 2013, in “Teatro Oriente”. He came to play he last album “The Raven that Refused to Sing (and other stories)”. It was very amazing, because, he loves to create a great atmosphere, it’s not just the music, he also uses a lot of lights and videos, and he has a transparent curtain that cover all the musicians, and there he projected some videos, and in the perfect moment, the curtain fell down.  I went with my boyfriend, because we both love his music. I remember that had a lot of different feelings, and I just started to cry! I was very happy to be in there, I just felt that I transported to another place, it felt so good, because all the people who as there, went to see him and his music, it seems that for all it was a very special moment.

My favorite song (in the concert) was postcard, it’s a really emotive and sad song, and there I started to cry (jajaja). The music just enters into me, and I felt all the feelings of the song. Here I let a video of the song in a Mexico concert if you want to listen to it!

Hi classmates!

I’m going to talk about my favorite music!

I really enjoy listen to music, it is like my favorite pastime, because it can make feel any emotion, if I want to feel happy, I just listen a song that is very animated, or if I want to connect with deeper feelings, I just hear a more melancholic or deeper music.

My favorite gender is rock (but not classic rock), and metal (but not black metal, or metal more “heavy”). My favorite band is Porcupine Tree that is progressive rock. I like it because of the subjects that they talk about, for example, there is a song that is called “remember me lover”, and for the title, you can imagine that is a love song, but is just the opposite, it is a song about how an ex-lover can “ruin” your life. Or also, they talk about the problems of the adolescents that are now deranged about TV, or the Xbox or PlayStation and how nobody takes the time to listen to them, and just make them take some pills. And also, the instrumental part is so powerful and well-constructed, that even if you don’t understand very well what they are saying, the music gets to you anyway. So if you have the time, you would listen to at least one song from them.

A country I would like to visit

Hello classmates!

Today I’m going to talk about a country that I would like to visit!

I always wanted to visit Spain, that’s because my great-grandfather was born there, and when I was little my father always told me very funny stories about him. For example, he hated all the priests, and once, he chased one with scissors in his hand, yelling at him that he was a scoundrel and if he wanted money for the church, he had to work.

Another reason is that I would like to visit Europe in general, and to start from Spain is a good way to do it, because they speak Spanish, like me, and I can have the nationality if I live there like 1 year. So it is a good option for going across Europe without problems.

And last but not least, is that I want to see the amazing architecture that they have. I’ll like to see the palaces, the churches, and the mosques, and also, take a lot of pictures of the journey!
